The development of the Saunality series began with the simple wish of us at Nature Pods. As lovers of baths and saunas, we constantly thought about how to keep our post-bath skin longer and more beautifully. Creating the ideal product was not easy. We continually refined textures and ingredients to address various skin concerns. Finally, we succeeded in creating the series.
- Pursuing Japanese Quality -
Japan now boasts the largest sauna population in the world, even surpassing Finland, highlighting the need for high-quality sauna skincare. We chose Karatsu City in Saga Prefecture, known for its rich nature and clean water, as our manufacturing site. By integrating packaging and transport companies within the factory premises, we successfully established a seamless model from production to delivery, ensuring consistent quality.*

The Saunality series is committed to small batch craft production. Sometimes, this means there may be a wait for delivery. This approach ensures meticulous quality control and a handcrafted touch that cannot be achieved through mass production. By carefully combining medicinal ingredients and superior moisturizing agents, we pursued the ideal texture and effectiveness. Produced in GMP (ISO-22716) certified factories*, our products are always fresh and of the highest quality.

The ingredients in Saunality products are selected based on scientific evidence.
We avoid the simplistic development of products under the assumption that "natural ingredients are safe" or "additive-free is safe." Natural ingredients can contain allergens or natural toxins, potentially having greater toxicity than chemicals.
Experts in pharmacology, chemistry, and production technology collaborate to select ingredient candidates based on academic papers. Only raw materials approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare are used to complete our products.

- Placenta extract* -
Placenta is the placenta, an essential tissue for mammals to synthesize proteins, detoxify harmful substances, and secrete hormones in order to nurture life in the mother's womb. The history of the use of placenta is very long, and it was introduced as a medicinal herb under the name "Shikasha" in the Chinese Ming Dynasty herbal book "Compendium of Materia Medica" (1590s).
Placenta contains over 10 kinds of amino acids, various vitamins, minerals, enzymes, etc., and is used as a treatment for liver dysfunction and menopausal disorders. It is also widely known for its effectiveness in controlling age spots and white spots on the skin and preventing aging caused by ultraviolet rays.

- Niacinamide -
Niacinamide is a type of vitamin B3, a natural ingredient found in mushrooms, seafood, meat, and grains. Mushrooms are a typical food rich in vitamin B3.
This ingredient is an essential nutrient for the body's energy metabolism, and recent research has revealed many other benefits, including improving wrinkles, improving uneven skin tone, preventing blemishes, synthesizing ceramides, controlling sebum, and being anti-inflammatory.
It is also known as the only medicinal beauty ingredient in Japan that has been recognized by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare as effective in both improving wrinkles and preventing age spots.

*Skin whitening is the process of suppressing melanin production and preventing age spots and freckles.
- Proteoglycan* -
Proteoglycan is a natural component found in salmon nasal cartilage, etc. It has a structure in which many sugar chains are bonded to a protein, and has the function of retaining moisture between the sugar chains.
Experiments using human cells have revealed that it has an effect similar to EGF (epidermal growth factor), which is known as a "cell regeneration factor," and that it has various functions, such as anti-aging and anti-inflammatory effects.
This ultra-high-end beauty ingredient was once difficult to extract and was even called a "miraculous revival ingredient," costing as much as 30 million yen per gram.

- Tranexamic acid* -
Tranexamic acid is a type of amino acid that has been proven to have anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, and anti-blemish and melasma effects. Due to its usefulness, it is included in the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines.
In Japan, it is widely used as a treatment for pharyngitis, stomatitis, and melasma.
It was approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in 2002 as an effective whitening ingredient, and has a proven track record of use for over 20 years.

- Licorice extract* -
Licorice is a plant that has been used as a traditional Chinese medicine since ancient times. Licorice extract (dipotassium glycyrrhizinate) extracted from its roots is known for its strong anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects, making it ideal for caring for sensitive skin or skin prone to inflammation.
This ingredient reduces redness and itching, and has a soothing effect. It also protects the skin from dryness and keeps it moisturized. In addition, its antioxidant properties prevent damage from the external environment and are expected to slow down skin aging.
